Parents, Family and Friends,
Below is a list of items
that teachers need in order to help with the education of our children. Teachers are alloted a budget to
purchase supplies for their classroom, however this does not usually get them through to the end of the year.
You will find that most of the items listed are small and inexpensive but they are important to the students. For
larger items, we generally appeal to the PTF for help. This is just one of the many reasons why it is important
to help our PTF with their fund-raising functions. Because the assistance they offer us is usually "behind
the scenes" many parents don't understand how big of a roll they play in our schools wellbeing.
We
appreciate your help with this matter!
Volunteering your time....
MacDougal School encourages parents and guardians to get involved in
their child's education by becoming a volunteer; it's a great way to connect with your child. With your help,
MacDougal School can better meet the needs of all our students and staff.
There are many ways to get involved...
- Working in the classroom helping students.
- Assisting a teacher with a classroom project or photocopying.
- Chaperoning a field trip.
- Helping with a PTF sponsored activity.
- Serving as
a library assistant.
- Plus many more!
Please discuss your interests with our staff and they will help arrange
a day and time that works best for you to volunteer. We look forward to seeing you!
Clearly, you are never too young to be a volunteer!

Thank you
so much to these young volunteers (mom included!). They brought a dash of spring to us by planting lovely flowers around
our walkway and flagpole!
Volunteering doesn't necessarily have to be within a classroom!
