Bus Safety & Standards of Conduct

For the safety of all concerned, students must follow the bus regulations of MSAD 5.  Also, state law limits the number of passengers a bus may carry.  Therefore, any student who is not a regular rider on a particular bus may not ride without prior permission from the office.

Transportation Director's
Telephone Number is 596-6620

The following rules apply to all regular runs,
field trips, and sporting events.

Students are expected to:

    1. Arrive at your bus stop 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
    2. Always cross in front of the bus.
    3. Be respectful towards the bus driver.  Your bus driver has the same authority as a teacher in the classroom.
    4. Follow all safety rules while waiting at their bus stop.
    5. Not bring items on the bus that are too large to be held on their lap with the exception of sports equipment.
    6. Be courteous and respectful to your classmates - Talk quietly, no name calling, no spitting, no offensive jokes, no unwelcome physical contact, no profane language, or obscene gestures.
    7. Respect the property of the school and other passengers.
    8. Go directly to a seat and remain seated while the bus is moving.
    9. Refrain from throwing objects at, on, or from the bus.
    10. Refrain from fighting, harassing, or tripping others.
